Create and Innovate
A North Pennines Festival of Co-operation
Saturday 26th June 2010, 10am – 4.00pm, Stanhope, County Durham
The 19th June – 3rd July is Co-operatives Fortnight. Key to the two week celebration of co-operation is doing things differently: working differently as individuals, colleagues, communities and businesses. Based on the principle that ‘There is an Alternative’, Co-operatives Fortnight offers people the opportunity to see that co-operation is good for us, for our communities and for businesses.
To mark the Fortnight, Co-operatives North East has come together with Mutual Inspiration CIC, North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) Partnership, the North East Social Enterprise Partnership and Social Enterprise & Community Development (SECOD) to showcase some of the finest co-operatives in the North Pennines. The festival will include displays of a range of co-operative goods, a Social Enterprise Market Place event (a place must be booked), and a range of stalls with information and lots of goodies!
The Social Enterprise Market Place is the third in a programme of events that have been run across the region. Whether you are thinking about or have recently set up a social enterprise or have a lot of experience in the area, come to share and learn and help grow a thriving social enterprise sector.
The Market Place is a very socially enterprising event using an open space design. We, the participants, are the ‘experts’ and collectively we co-create the agenda and self-organise for a high energy meeting. You can look forward to a day of connecting, sharing, learning, collaborating, commitment and fun. So if you have not attended an open space event before, be prepared to be surprised!
This whole event will take place between 10am-4.00pm at St Thomas’ Church Hall, Front Street, Stanhope, with the Social Enterprise Market Place starting at 2.00pm till 4.00pm
Everyone is welcome to this free event.
