This what some of the participants in our programmes say:
“I have learnt so much about myself from the Wellbeing Journey which helps me on a daily basis. I now take much more time to think about my role in life and the positive things that influence it. I appreciate things much more and look deeper into how and why people act in a certain way.”
“The Wellbeing Journey had definitely had an impact on my work. I take more time in trying to understand a personal situation by looking at the whole picture and understanding the concept that we are all unique. As my own wellbeing has improved I feel that I am more able to respond positively and engage fully in my work.”
“I really enjoyed being part of a group experiencing the programme and for me the main benefit was sharing experiences which added to the quality and learning for us. I feel that as a group each individual was unique which added to the whole wellbeing journey.”
“It has helped me to think about things differently, to be more mindful. I like the concept of ‘being’ and ‘doing’. Being part of the group has had a big impact on me in my personal life. I have learned that we have choices and we need to stop, be still, absorb silence and then make a considered decision about things in my life”
“I have learned a lot about group work method, as in techniques for bringing a group together, the bonding and the providing of positive experiences such as the talking stick. The benefits of being part of a group include: sense of belonging, friendship, working as a team, acquisition of confidence, learning how to respond to new situations, good fun.”
“I felt I learned something every session. The prominent things are managing and reflecting on reaction and response, that I appreciate things more in my everyday occurrences.”
“The respond and react tasks worked well. In my place of work young people can be challenging and react to your reaction and you end up with a situation that could have been avoided.”
“Seeing other people’s progress in the group was a real benefit. It was interesting to see who had worked on developing and who naturally grew. Also seeing that everyone got something out of it and that we can all see how these tasks and examples work really well with the people we work with.”
“What I personally got from the Wellbeing Journey was learning to look at the bigger picture in times of distress, to nurture the spirit/mind and not just the physical, and to reassess and recommence my growth in wellbeing.”
“The reflection journal complimented the lessons, to be able to reflect and formulate the practicality of tools used.”
“What I learned was self awareness and awareness of the surroundings (ie space, cosmology, knowledge, assets, cultures, faith etc) and how all of these things affect my life, and how I have to ‘respond’ rather than ‘react’ to them and dance with the flows and rhythms.”
“I gained more insight and clarity about my role in my work and how I can bring intelligence to my work. Awareness of the surroundings (work colleagues, policies, resources etc) and how to harness them for the betterment of the organisation and it s people. I developed a spiritual relationship with my work.”
“I learned how to look at self and try to look after my wellbeing. It worked as a way to take care of my wellbeing. I will be having an opportunity to introduce some of the activities with the team. I am also developing skills to respond and not to react to situations.”
“I enjoyed sharing different opinions in a calm and comfortable environment, being able to share experiences without feeling pressured. I have managed to learn a lot from the group. It was easy to discuss diverse issues that affect our life.”
